Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater! You are 18 months old! You are a whopping 20 lbs and 30 in. tall. Just a little guy but you have a BIG personality.
You are still the sweetest, most affectionate, smiliest little man. You love giving kisses and will pucker you lips and make the cutest little kissing sound to signify that you want kisses. Usually at bedtime or when someone is saying goodbye. Or just any time someone wants a kiss. You are quick to laugh and have the cutest little giggle and belly laugh ever! At bedtime you snuggle up with mommy and rock in the rocking chair while she sings. In the morning you wrap your little arms around mom's neck when she get's you out of bed and are so happy to see anyone who gets you out of bed.
You have learned lots of words. Mama, Dada, bak-bak (chickens), kucka (yucky), Abba (Abby), wah-wah, MOOO (more), Papa (grandpa terry). You stick your tongue out and pant like a dog when you see or want to say puppy. Otherwise you talk in your own little language of deep throaty guttural noises. Daddy thinks it's the cutest! You also can sign more, please, milk and your own version of water. You are learning so quickly with those 3 older siblings.
You LOVE to be in the water. The other day we went swimming in Logan with our cousins and you had to get out to clean your stinky bum. You were so excited to get back in that you ran out of the dressing room and had one leg in the water with nothing but your birthday suit on before mom could even catch you! You love playing outside and riding in anything that anyone can push you in. The bike trailer, the toy cars, the stroller. You LOVE airplanes and anytime you hear one you will look for it in the sky point at it with one little finger and say "oooooohhhhh."
You have developed a feisty little personality and have become the most picky eater. You will always eat dessert and bananas though! You have also learned how to fight back with your siblings, especially Russell. Unfortunately you've hit the age of anger for the Colton boys and your little temper is starting to show. You get so excited about things and have become a bit of a biter at times. We're trying really hard to stop that tendency! Poor cousin Johnny gets the brunt of your bites but Seth and Joseph have had at least one too.
Peter you are a great sleeper and will sleep for 11-12 hours at night. You have even started to take 2 naps again on some days! You LOVE stories and will bring them to Mommy to read to you throughout the day, but especially at bedtime! You're favorite book by far is "Pete the Cat: I love my white shoes." You can pick that out of a stack just by looking at it. You'll dance to it as we read the songs. And speaking of dancing, you are our DANCER. Anytime you hear a beat of any kind you start shakin' and bouncin'!
You love to play with the big kids and try so hard to keep up. You will 'run' and your little legs will take you as fast as they can. You are the best climber and have been climbing on everything since you turned 1. You can hold yourself up hanging on for quite a while. You rival Tom for our busiest baby. We have to watch you so close because you get into everything and it can be in a matter of seconds! You love the chickens and watch for them every morning, try to chase them and catch them too.
We've done SO many fun things this past spring and summer! We camped, hiked, went to your first cave, went swimming so many times, went boating, explored sunflower fields, visited butterflies and dinosaurs, went to the rodeo and the zoo - you LOVED seeing the animals, saw fireworks - you were in awe of each burst - and parades, visited with family and friends, dug for trilobites, and rode horses. Being the 4th child means you get to do lots of things and go on lots of adventures!
We LOVE you Peto! We love watching you learn and grow SO fast but we wish you would just slow down! You are such an important part of our family!
