You are 2 1/2 years old! There is SO much to say about how much you have grown and learned in the last 6 months!
You are talking SO much. You just exploded with words in the last few months. You do a lot of repeating the last word of what anyone has said. But you've recently started talking in sentences. It is just the cutest! When we ask you a question the answer you always respond with a full 'Yes' instead of just yeah. It usually has a whiney drawl to it or some angry attitude. You also say 'No' a fair share of the time too though. Some of our favorite words that you say are 'Yes', 'Pee-oh' (Peter), "Bue-Beh-ies' (blueberries, which are still your favorite!) 'Puoopy' (poopy, you add a long u sound in there).
When you first started talking you called you sister Abby. Then after hearing mom say Abigail so often you started calling her 'Abby-dale" with an emphasis on the 'dale'. Then all of a sudden you started calling mom and dad 'Mommy-gale' and 'Daddy-gale.' It is our FAVORITE thing that you say!!
As much as you love talking now, you love food even more. You often wake up in the middle of the night talking about random things or telling mommy to 'mere, mere'. But the other day woke up at 4 am and were just half awake and in you very most winey sleepy voice you said, on repeat, 'yodurt, yodurt.' Then you said 'panpates mom!' All while your little eyes were still closed. If it's not talking in your sleep then first thing in the morning you come into our room and say 'cereal, mommy, cereal.' It's in such a little whiney voice that often times we can't understand what your saying.
You have developed quite the angry side. Maybe this is just learned because you have to defend yourself and what's yours from those pesky older siblings. But you are also still such a sweet little boy who loves to cuddle and give kisses. When Mom is tucking Tom in to bed you like to come over and tickle her back. You love to snuggle with Dad at nap or bed time but what usually ends up happening is Dad falls asleep you you sneak away to play.
You LOVE to do what ever the big kids are doing! You walk around the house saying 'kids? where da kids, mom?' if you can't find them. Or when lunch of dinner are ready you yell down the stairs 'kids! yunch!' You love to play outside, especially with the water guns. You love your boy baby doll who you affectionately named Ebo, and take him everywhere you go. Mom often finds him in Peter's car seat or in the baby bumbo or mamaroo! You take him everywhere! You still love to play with cars all the time but you have a new love of action figures - especially 'ba-man' (batman). Your batman jammies are your absolute favorite and you and ask to wear them every night. Things don't go well if they happen to be dirty though!
You LOVE Peter, we think, but mom and dad quite literally can not leave you in the same room with him alone. You usually end up poking his eyes, or biting him, or scratching his face or head. You like to help him 'roll over' and you also like to sit on him. One day he'll be just as big as you Russ and you'll have to watch out.;)
You are such a particular little boy. You change your clothes multiple times a day because if you have one little spill or they get wet in the least, or you just feel like it, you HAVE to change your clothes! You are constantly taking your shoes off and asking to have them put back on but - 'no socks mommy' - you do not like to wear socks!
You still eat most everything but it has to be your idea. You usually take one or two bites at meal time and then get distracted and or refuse to eat anymore. That will go on for a few days and then you inhale every meal. Oh and also, every meal is called 'dinn-oh' (dinner). Mom always knows when you are hungry because you say 'dinn-oh mom?' and give her this little look of deep question and curiosity on you face. You love anything dessert or candy and your favorite snack is a fruit snack. You call them 'snats' and will walk around saying it over and over and over again until you get one.
You are starting to learn your colors. You can say all the colors 'geen' 'beeuw' 'red' 'lellow' 'ornge' 'purpo'. But when we ask you what color something is, the color is always 'geen'!
The big kids have gone back to school. Abby in 1st grade and Tom in Kindergarten. You get to hand out with Tom in the morning before he goes to school in the afternoon. But then it's just you and mom and pet-oh. Quiet time for you and nap time for pee-oh and silence for Mom ;)!
You are a home body and like to be with people you know. For a bit you wouldn't go to nursery. One time mom took you home after Sacrament meeting for lunch and a nap and ever since then you say all during sacrament meeting 'no nursy. scared mom. home? yunch?' Maybe there's a little schemer in you and you know just how to get what you want! But recently you've been going to nursery and playing with friends and cousins all the time too.
We sure love you Russell! You are such a special part of our family!
