31 Weeks

31 Weeks
July 18, 2014

Time sure seems to be flying by. And this baby is getting bigger and bigger by the minute  - or so it seems to me.

From what I'm told on my weekly updates she is about 4 ish pounds now and about 19 ish in. long (although given my jeans, I'm sure she's really not that tall) They tell me she's about the size of a head of lettuce . . . but I've seen what a 31 week baby looks like and she is definitely got to be bigger than a head of lettuce. But whatever.

We feel her get the hiccoughs at least once a day, it seems, it is the cutest thing. She also has found a recent pleasure in kicking my ribs and punching on my bladder. And she still likes to kick Daddy's mouth when he gets close to talk to her. He says they are love taps. :)

I'm feeling slightly more uncomfortable as the days go by. My lungs don't have quite as much room to expand and my nights consist of getting up to go to the bathroom about every 1 1/2 - 2 hrs with accompanying heart burn. It pretty much is the best time of my life. Needless to say, I don't get lots of sleep during the night so I'm usually extra tired during the day.

The pregnancy has gone pretty smooth up until this point. No major complaints. We took her on her very first camping trip this past week and Mom may have slightly over did it. The day after we returned I ended up being monitored in the hospital for pre-term labor. I guess she agrees with me that her living quarters are tighter than she would like and is knocking at the door to come out. Which is the LAST thing I want for her right now. It's just too early.

So I am trying to take it easy and counting each day a blessing that I am still pregnant!

Here's to AT LEAST 6 more weeks of pregnancy!

Family Reunion at Clear Lake

We were able to spend about 5 days up in Oregon at Clear Lake for Garhett's Dad's family reunion. We met lots and lots of new family and loved getting to know everyone and spending time with Garhett's Dad. (Yes, I went camping at 30 weeks pregnant. It wasn't too bad. But I'm not sure I would do it again ;) )

There were some beautiful waterfalls just down the way from Clear Lake and our camp site. We had fun hiking around and exploring.

Hence why the lake is called 'Clear Lake'. In the shallower parts (which are still pretty deep) you can see all the way to the bottom of the lake. It was amazing and so beautiful!

It was such a beautiful place!

This is me lounging on the boat while the men folk fished. :) Garhett was in heaven fishing all the time. But, did I even get any pictures of him fishing? NO! What was I thinking. He caught some great fish though and we brought one home. It made for a great Sunday dinner!
Our little campsite. Yes, we were the only ones in tents! Everyone else had camp trailers or cabins. We're so hard core!

Me playing the air guitar in the car on the way home from Oregon.
Garhett let me drive for like two hours of the drive up and back from Oregon (which is about a 12 hour drive). . . . not because he thinks I'm a bad driver, but because he is so good to me and takes such good care of me. But a man can only drive so long before he gets too tired. I had to spell him for a little bit. And he had to document. :)

We spent the last night of our trip at my Aunt Marcie and Uncle Dave's house in Portland. I wish I would have taken some pictures, but I didn't. We had so much fun visiting with them though and are grateful for their hospitality!
