3 months

Sweet Thomas,
You are 3 months old. The time is flying!

This is what happens when we let Daddy do you monthly photo shoot! HA HA

We love everything about you from you fuzzy little head to your chunky thighs. You are growing and growing. You've got a cute double chin and a couple folds in your inner thighs. I want to gobble them up every time I change your diaper. You're starting to get chubby little hands and feet as well. You have mostly grown out of you newborn clothes, but can still fit in a few of them, and are starting to fill out your 3 month clothes.

With all that growth you are getting stronger and stronger too. You enjoy tummy time a little bit more and for a little bit longer at a time. You're standing up on those chubby little legs and holding your head up a little better. Daddy likes to put you in the bumbo seat even though you and your head stability are not quite ready for it. But he has a few good tricks to remedy that.

Sorry about the girly pillow Thomas, that's what happens when you have an older sister!

You certainly know how to get what you want. Maybe we've made you that way since you're sister seems to like our attention at the same times as you! You LOVE to be held! If we get you to sleep in our arms and then put you down you know it immediately and will wake right up and demand to be held again. Once you're asleep it's hard to keep you that way if we're not holding you, so Dad has gotten a little . . . creative . . . when he puts you to sleep.

You also quite distinctly know the difference between mommy and daddy rocking you to sleep while sitting down and while standing up - and you much prefer when we are standing up.
Despite being a little high maintenance at times, you LOVE to cuddle. Your sister wasn't as cuddly as you and Mommy especially enjoys it! Your favorite place to curl up and fall asleep is on Mom's chest. (It's her favorite too!)

You are a serious little guy most of the time, but we have been able to coax one or two smiles out of you. You have the cutest little dimple that pops up when you do smile and we can't wait to see it more and more. You have the same big bright eyes as your sister but yours are much bluer and we hope they stay that way! You LOVE to people watch. No matter where we are you just stare and your little blue eyes follow whatever they are fixed upon.

You've done lot's of exciting things this past month. We went to the fair, and the Utah vs. SUU football game to see Uncle Mike and Aunt Marcie play and cheer. We had a fun night up Big Cottonwood Canyon, walked around Silver Lake and cooked around the campfire with Mommy's family . We went to St. George with Daddy's family. And we had a little camp out in our backyard and slept in the tent. It has been a great way to end our summer and even better that you were a part of it all!

These are the cutest little boy jeans ever!

As always, your big sisters loves you so much! She loves to cuddle with you in the morning especially. Lately she's started playing with you like a baby doll. You never seem too thrilled about it, but you go along with her antics because you're a great little brother!

We love to cuddle in Mommy's and Daddy's bed at this house!

Family scripture study. You seem very interested in what Daddy is reading!

You've apparently learned how to say your prayers already. We knew you were a little angel baby!

We went to visit your Great Great Grandma Leta! There are 5 generations between Her and you Thomas!!

Sometimes our schedules are crazy and your sister can cause quite a big scene, but you have the sweetest temperament; are calm and easy going and just go with the flow. It's the saddest thing when you get sad. You're little bottom lip quivers and your eyes get big and teary. You know exactly how to tug at your momma's heart strings! We LOVE you Thomas and are so happy you are a part of our family, forever!

This Daddy and son construction outfit was the very first outfit we bought for you when we found out we were going to have a little boy. We've waited a LONG time for you to finally be able to wear it!

Mommy loves to take pictures of you sleeping Thomas, you are just the cutest!

Abby is 2 years old

Our sweet Abigail is 2 years old!

Abby, we can't believe you are 2 already. It seems like just yesterday that we were bundling you up and bringing you home from the hospital!

You have transformed in the last year from being our baby to our toddler! You have also quite literally taken on the role of big girl when you became a big sister to your brother Thomas in June. You have filled the role wonderfully! You are such a good big sister and we are so proud of you.

At your two year Dr. appointment you were 25lbs and 34in. tall! You are 50% for both height and weight.  Although average in stature, you are much more unique in personality!

You have the cutest, most unique little personality. You are stubborn! SO stubborn. When you don't want to do something it is all fits and drama. You throw yourself on the floor and go totally limp. But you have to make sure that you are being watched. What's the point of throwing a fit if no one is watching right?  You know what you want and you know exactly how to get it. You don't say too many words yet but you communicate what you want so well, why would you need to talk, huh? Mom thinks it's all part of your cute stubbornness. You will talk when you want to talk, and not a second before, no matter how much we try to get you to. And you can be such a little tease about it too. Our favorite is when we tell you "Abby, say Daddy" and you get a smile on your face and say "Mommy!'

You are a determined and opinionated little girl. Mom has started giving you your choice about what you want to wear in the morning or what bow you want in your hair. She has learned that if she picks the wrong things you won't hesitate to tell her so and she needs to let you use your growing independence and pick for yourself. You also have learned how to put your shoes on by yourself and make your bed. While you are determined and independent you still know how to ask for help when you need it. Every once in a while we hear a little " 'elp ". We love that you are growing and learning but we also love that you still need us!

Abby, you LOVE to play, mostly outside with your dad or at the park, but anything inside as well. Your favorite thing to do is go for walks in your stroller and look at the big trucks and buses driving on the street. You get so excited about them. You love when Daddy takes you for rides behind his bike in your bike trailer. You also love to play outside in the backyard. You help dad with the pigeons, the garden, and mowing the lawn. You play with the neighbors dog through the fence and she loves you.

When we're inside, you love reading stories, playing with your tea-set, coloring in your coloring book (and sometimes in your story books), pushing your baby dolls in your stroller and filling up your shopping cart with toys and pushing those around. You love to watch mommy in the kitchen and help her cook - especially when she makes brownies. The minute you see the electric beaters you think you should be able to have them to lick off whatever yummy treat Mom has on them. Mom has to remind you that we need to make the treat first, then you can taste it.
Abby, you are fiesty and stubborn, but you are also so sweet and loving! You love to give hugs and kisses and are learning how to share and take turns (even when it's hard sometimes). Your nightly routine is to give a kiss to Daddy, then Thomas, then Mommy. Then you make the rounds again to give tight little Abby squeezes. Sometimes you make a third round for 'knoggins' or 'eskimos'!

You love your little brother, Thomas, so much! In the morning when we come in to get you, you pat your bed until we lay Thomas down next to you. You wrap your arm around him and just lay there. You are so sweet with him. One night we left you and Thomas laying in your bed for a minute. When we came back you had your little finger in Thomas's mouth (he was sucking away) to help keep him happy.
You are a curious little thing! You love to explore and be a part of everything that is going on. We often here your little high pitched voice asking over and over again "what's 'zis', what's 'zis'." You also love other little kids and are quite social. You LOVE nursery. Sometimes it's the only way we can get through Sacrament Meeting. We just remind you that you can go to nursery afterwards if you're good. No matter where we are, and if you know them or not, when there are kids playing around having fun you will immediately join them laughing and giggling. We LOVE the confidence that you have. We have to keep our eyes on you though because you'll just disappear sometimes when you're having all that fun!

Abby you are certainly busy with all this growing up you're doing. You don't like to sit still for very long and are constantly moving from one thing/activity to the next. You are definitely your Daddy's girl! But we LOVE you no matter what and we love the sweet, curious, feisty, stubborn, loving, smart girl you are becoming!

Happy 2 years sweet thing, we can't wait for many more to come!

 Love,
Mom and Dad
