Little bit of Paradise part 1

We just got back from a once in a life time trip. In the middle of February our good friend Lu invited us to go to Maui with her and stay in this beautiful beach house. We couldn't pass up that offer. I scrounged to get my shifts at work covered and Garhett got the time off and purchased tickets. Three weeks later we were on a plane to the the Island of Maui. (We were there March 4 - 10th)

We had such a blast there, even though the weather was windy and rainy. We had fun just relaxing and being able to spend time together!

Abby did amazing the whole trip - both flights as well as the endless activities while we were there. I was so surprised and impressed.

Abby's first introduction to the beach. . . . she was NOT so thrilled!

First morning in Maui. Since Utah was 3 hours later at the time, Abby was up WAY before everyone else. She loved to stand at the window and watch the waves.

Breakfast at Koa's Seaside Grill

The Lahiana Banyan Tree. This tree is so big and it branches off and starts growing other trees. It was super cool.

Abby didn't like the cold ocean and the sand, but she LOVED the warm pool at the beach house. We spent a lot of time here.

Hangin' out at the beach house.

We sent out to dinner, a lot, but we did make a few meals at the beach house.
This was one of them. BBQ pork chops!

Playing with Lu. It took Abby a little bit to warm up, but they got to be pretty good friends!

Abby sittin' pretty at the beach

Little Miss Hula

Mokuleia Bay

We drove the Road to Hauna. We were only able to do half of it because of the little one. She can only handle so much time in the car on a windy road.

Picture from the Road to Hana . It was a beautiful place!

We found a little water hole and Garhett had fun exploring it.

Garhett found a natural water fountain from this tree.
Garhett also had fun 'redirecting' the water found from the spring

We found this awesome little forest of trees. Their trunks look like they've been painted.

The next few pictures are from the beach at Kapalua where our Beach house was. It was a beautiful beach. We were able to see lots of surfers come and surf and were also able to see some whales out in the distance.

Little bit of Paradise part 2

Paradise Vacation continued . . .

Abby LOVED playing with these fun stacking cups that Lu got her. She had so much fun hanging out at the Beach House.

Back at Koa's Seaside Grill. We loved this place for breakfast. We usually sat right at the edge of the balcony so that we could look out over the water. Abby loved watching the little fishies swim in the ocean.

There weren't too many days that had good beach lounging weather. It was pretty windy most days. But towards the end of our trip the sun actually came out for while and the wind slowed down a little bit. We tried to get Abby excited about the ocean and the sand, but she just did not like it!

Lu lounging in the atrium at the beach house. Looks pretty relaxing doesn't it.

More pictures from our beach house. We had the most incredible views!

Garhett had but learning how/trying to boogie board. He came away with only a few minor cuts and scrapes. Ha ;)

On our way home. Plane ride from Maui to San Diego.

Garhett bought himself a little 10 minute massage chair session. He was quite thrilled about it!

Abby and Mommy on the plane. She did SO good on all or out flights. We were so proud of her!
And now we're back home to real life. This sure was a great vacation and we are so grateful we were able to go.
