Peter is 1 month!

 Peter Franklyn

You are 1 month old!

At your 2 week visit you weighed 7 lbs 6 oz. You have exceeded your birth weight and gained 11 oz. in 2 weeks. You are growing so fast! You measured in at 19.5 in. So . . . you either shrunk or they may have gotten your birth weight a little wrong! (19 in. birth weight sounds a little more realistic, that's what Russell was!)

You are such a sweet baby. You hardly ever cry. You are content to just sit in your mamaroo or rocker and watch what's going on around you until you doze off to sleep all on your own. We know that this newborn stage of falling asleep on your own won't last forever, but we're enjoying it while it lasts. Although we still prefer to sit and snuggle with you and hold you until you fall asleep.

You are SOOO loved by your siblings. They are always fighting on who's turn it is to hold you. Russell is pretty protective of you and always thinks it's his turn to hold you, especially when you are ready to eat. So he isn't too happy with Mom when she takes you away to feed you. He wants to show you to everyone who walks in our door! Tom loves to snuggle with you and talk to you. Abby is your little second Mama. She takes such good care of you, especially when mom is busy with something or someone else. She is a great helper.

You had your circumcision at 2 weeks old on February 18th. You were so tuff! Your cord fell off around that same time. You finally got your first tub bath right about at 1 month. All the kids were so excited to get in the tubby with you! You loved soaking in the warm water but didn't love getting washed very much! You and Daddy have had several late night tubbies together and you LOVE that!

For the first week of your life you slept pretty well. You would give us 6-7 hour stretches. It was just so nice for Mommy. But we knew that wouldn't last forever either and pretty soon you reverted back to typical newborn sleeping habits of up every 3-4 hours. Hopefully you'll figure that out soon.

You have a few nick names already. Pete, Pete the Cat (there's a book about that), Stinky Pete, Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater!

You had your first bottle and did so awesome! You celebrated your first Valentine's Day. Dad got everyone some fish and a fish tank!

We all ADORE you Pete and we love having you in our family!

First bottle!

The kids made you King Peter for the day!

First Valentine's Day!
