Peter is 9 months old!

  Peter Franklyn,

You are 9 months old and weigh 17 lbs. and are 26.5 in. tall. You are just barely on the charts in the 2nd percentile for height and the 10th percentile for weight - little just like the rest of the Colton brothers! One day you boys will hit your growth spurt, we're counting on it!

Peter you have exploded with personality and development this past month! You are ON THE MOVE and going like crazy! You army crawl like nobody's business! You are getting up on your hands and knees - poised to crawl - but haven't quite coordinated all the movements yet. You are so close though. But that doesn't stop you from climbing up on anything that you can get your little chubby hands on! You love to climb up on anything onto your feet and see what's going on up there. We HAVE to buckle you in your high chair because the second you get in there you are turning around and standing up in it.  You are such a busy little thing and WILL NOT SIT STILL. You are always jumping up and down in our laps and climbing and turning. You are so curious about what is going on around you!

You are not just moving during the day, you are SUCH an active sleeper and are all over the place in your bed. Every time we check on you, you are in a different spot in the bed. You definitely prefer sleeping on your tummy now with your little bum sticking up. We've banished you to the basement in the pack and play. You were waking up so much at night that we had to do it to help you learn how to self soothe yourself back to sleep. You never had the chance sleeping in the crib in Abby's room. She's such a sweet sister that she would always wake up and take care of you and bring you to mom. We think it's working quite well. We're not sure where all your energy is coming from because you are starting to turn into a terrible napper.

You started clapping at the end of this month and it is the most adorable thing. You get so excited and are so proud of yourself. You especially like to clap when you are in the highchair eating your food. And boy do you get excited about food!! You've become quite fond of eating table food, and want to be eating what everyone else is eating. You have started to feed yourself too. You will eat anything we put in front of you, even your greens. You are our first baby to not gag and grimace when we feed you green beans! You just swallow them up like anything else.

You celebrated your first Halloween and were the cutest little dinosaur. You had fun riding along with in the stroller while the big kids trick-or-treated.

You've had some bad luck with being sick. It seems since you had Covid in September when you were 7 months you have have so many colds. As soon as 1 cold resolves your poor little nose starts to run again. Hopefully it gets all out of your system before the holidays!

You love your siblings and want to be around them and see what they are doing. Abby is the sweetest and takes care of you so much. Thomas is close behind. He likes to make you laugh and does a really good job of it too. Russell loves you so much but feels the need to give you some "tough-love" pretty much all the time. He's still learning the meaning of  "be soft". He especially loves to play with/pull your hair and seems to have to give you an obligatory "high-five to the head" every time he walks by you. You've started to get a little nervous whenever Russell starts to move toward you and sometimes even let our a nervous whimper or cry. We think you still love Russell though, despite it all.

This past month we lost a few close family and friend. You got to attend their funerals with mom and dad. We lost Grandpa's best friend, sweet Blaine Smith and also your Great Grandma Matheson. You got to visit your a few times while she was still alive.

We sure love you Peter!! Can't believe you are already 9 months old!

Picking grapes to make grape juice!

Visiting Great Grandma Matheson for the last time. She died on October 10, 2021. Mom wanted pictures of her house to remember and you got to be the model for them all.
