Abby is 7 years old!

Abby Cait,

Where do we even begin. You are 7 years old and such a joy to be around. We often say how we CAN NOT do this crazy family without your help. You are so needed and so loved and such a help to us! We love you more than words can say!

This last year you thrived in kindergarten and soaked up all the learning! You are now in 1st grade and are excelling in everything! You are above average in all areas and are such a good reader and we are SO proud of you. You hae been so successful because you work SO hard. You are constantly practicing your reading and writing and counting and numbers until it gets easier and easier for you to do. You love when Dad sits down and teaches you new things like measuring and distance or adding big numbers. You love learning and you put in the hard work! 1st grade was a little bit of a hard transition for you because you are in school now all day. But you have done so well and are doing a great job!

Abigail, you are the sweetest little girl. You love to write letters and love notes to or draw beautiful pictures for Mom and Dad. You like to write birthday cards to your grandparents and show how much you love them. You are extremely thoughtful and are always trying to help mom around the house or help with the boys. You are always trying to cheer her up when she is sad or help Daddy with his projects. You are so concerned about making other people feel good and happy.

We love that lately you have been writing 'Letters to God'. They are the sweetest prayers in writing form and we love your sweet spirit and how close you are to our Heavenly Father. You love to bare your testimony and often suggest having impromptu testimony meetings for our Come Follow Me lessons or for Family Home Evening. You are gaining your own testimony and coming to know that God answers prayers and that He is your friend. You say the sweetest most thoughtful prayers!

Abby, you LOVE to play outside. We recently got a new playset for the back yard with swings and a play house and monkey bars. You love to play on the monkey bars and could be out there all day! You love to ride your bike and go on adventures. Your favorite thing is to go on treasure hunts or make treasure hunts for your brothers or mom and dad. You got a fairy house set for your birthday and you check on them everyday, watering your plants and making sure they are ok. You love to feed and play with our chickens and you love to hunt for bugs or wild life. You recently wanted to start a plant and bug hospital. You are extremely caring of all creatures!

You LOVE to do art. It is your favorite thing and past time. Often, you are in the art room creating art or crafts or coloring or drawing pictures.

You love animals of all kinds, but especially love horses - and therefore unicorns. Your favorite colors are pink, blue and purple. Your best friend is Annie Evans, but unfortunately you didn't get to be in the same first grade class. Your favorite dinner is Orange chicken and rice or spaghetti. You love ice cream with sprinkles or other toppings. You love to go bowling and you LOVE to go swimming. You have a couple different sessions of swimming lessons and you are getting so good at swimming!

This past year you lost your first 2 baby teeth, survived school and covid and then got covid right at the beginning of 1st grade. We were quarantined for 10 days and you missed some fun things - like the teddy bear picnic and your birthday. It was a bummer but you were so resilient and had the best attitude. You welcomed a new baby brother into our family - Peter - and have been such a good big sister. We went on a fun Moab trip where you swam and swam and swam some more! You performed in a christmas and spring dance recital, went on a mommy daughter date and got a build a bear, went to grandma Mimi's princess party and met sleeping beauty and snow white, went camping and fishing and ate lots of smore's. You set up an orange juice stand and sold orange juice in the driveway making your Daddy so proud of your entrepreneurship! We had some sad things too, like losing Great Grandma Matheson, but we did get to visit her on the 4th of July and see her one last time all together.

You are such a bright young thing Abigail and we adore you!!
