Garhett and I decided to brave the crowds and took Abby to Chicago to visit Sally and Nate for Thanksgiving and to have her meet her cousins Lillian and Clarissa. It was such a great trip! We had so much fun together; a memory we will have forever!
| This is at the top of the Willis Tower (used to be the Sears Tower) 103 stories, or something like that. It was pretty amazing to see the view from the top. |
| This is on what they call the "Ledge" It's a glass box/balcony thing they built for visitors to really see how hi they are. |
| Cute Lillian up on the Tower. |
| We spent a lot of time walking; to and from the train station, and all around down town Chicago. This picture was taken at the end of a LONG day of walking.all of our feet were so tired! Bless our sweet husbands who helped carry the little ones, and even at times us! :) (If you can't tell Nate is holding Clarissa in the baby bjorn on his front as well as Sally on his back.) |
| Abby's first train ride! She got all sorts of "firsts" on this trip. First plane ride, train ride, time in a big city, first time on the 103rd floor of a big tall building. :) She was a great sport and did so well the whole time. |
Here is our little snowball. It was pretty cold one of the days we went into the city, but our little peanut stayed nice and warm in this little fleece suit. Isn't she ADORABLE!?
| This is down town by Millennium Park. |
| The famous "Bean" monument at Millennium Park |
| Abby started to fuss a little bit in this picture and so Lillian took her hand and said "Oh I'll read you a story!" It was so cute! |
Thanksgiving day was a BLAST. We spent the morning enjoying the Thanksgiving day parade on TV and lounging around.
| Lillian LOVED little Abigail. She was always trying to take care of her. Holding her hand, and wiping the spit up off of her chin. It was so cute! |
| Sally and I made our entire Thanksgiving dinner, with a little help from the boys. We only had one small oven, so we had to improvise a little, but it turned out great. Sally did all the hard stuff like the Turkey and the pies and I helped with everything else. So really it was Sally's Thanksgiving dinner. She is amazing! |
| Sally and her beautiful Turkey! |
| Nate sprayed whipped cream on a spoon for Lillian to eat. Clarissa thought she was missing out on something so Lilly started feeding her the Whipped Cream. It was so funny! |
| Sally's Beautiful pies. They were so good. The pumpkin one was a cold pumpkin chiffon cake. It was the most delicious thing I have ever eaten! |
| Cousins hanging out in our bed on Sunday morning, the day we flew home. |
| And lastly, cousin bath time! So much fun! They all loved it until we started to wash them, then they all complained. I have to say though, Abby put on the biggest fit. She loves the water but once you start washing her she screams like you've just done something so horrible - the little Stink! |
We had so much fun with Sally and Nate and their girls while we were there. They were such great hosts! We miss them already!
