Russell,
You are 6 months old!! Half a year has gone by with you in our family! You are getting more and more of a personality and are so fun to have around.
At your 6 month appointment you were 16 lbs ____oz. and 24 in. long! You are growing SO much. When we pick you up you feel like a solid brick! That's probably in part because you EAT SOO MUCH! You were ready to eat at 4 months but Mom had a hard time starting to feed you because that meant that you were growing up and she doesn't want you to! (she was also afraid you'd get constipated - which you did!) But we could only hold you off for about a month. You wanted to eat SOO badly. We starting feeding you baby food regularly at about a little over 5 months! You absolutely LOVE food. You'll eat anything we put in your mouth. You started out with squash, carrots, and peas. You would just down them. Then we started introducing some fruit. Just now though we think you are starting to get a little picky about what you want to eat. (Fruits being preferred)
You're little left eye with a clogged duct has finally cleared up. We see hardly any drainage any more and we are all so happy about it. Especially you because Mom doesn't constantly wipe your poor eye anymore. You LOVE being naked and, held, swinging in the swing, eating food and sleeping

You are trying really hard to be a thumb sucker and mom and dad really don't want you to be. You like to sing your tired song and stare at you hands out in front of your face with your thumbs sticking out. Then you slowly bring them down and pop them in your mouth. Sometimes both at the same time! It is so very cute, but Mommy knows that if that habit sticks it will be really hard to get rid of! We keep trying to get you to take a binky like your brother and sister did but you just don't care about them. You'll take it if you're really tired though!
You continue to be our sweet, calm and easy going baby! And we are so very grateful for that! Since you don't require much attention you sometimes don't get it when mom and dad get busy. So we got you a bouncer to play in so you're not just laying on your back all the time. You also like to sit in your bumbo chair. They both do the trick of keeping you off your back and entertained through out the day.
You went on your very first camping trip this past month and your second National Park! We had a family vacation to Yellowstone and had a blast. You did SOO great. You slept pretty well in your personalized little pillow bed. You loved hanging out at the camp site in the stroller and chillin' in the hammock. The car rides were the hardest because you don't really love riding in your car seat. But you did pretty well, especially the 7 hour ride home!
