Thomas 18 Months

Thomas, you are 18 months old! You have transformed into a little toddler. We LOVE your growing personality and your enthusiasm for everything!

You turned 1 on June 23rd and since then you have matured SOO much! You started walking at 14 months old, at the beginning of September! Since then you have been constantly on the move! You have the most adorable little dimples and the most infectious little smile and laugh.
You still are such a sweet little soul and love to cuddle and give hugs and kisses - open mouthed kisses are your specialty! You've regressed in your sleeping habits; one day sleeping through the night will be a thing that you do! You REALLY like mom and dad's bed and somehow can still find your way there in the wee hours of the night by simply letting out a cry and holding out those chubby adorable hands for us to pick you up and then snuggling close once your in our arms.

This has been a tough few months for you as you are learning to communicate but arent quite there yet. You get frustrated so easily and don't know what to do except throw fits and lash out in anger. It's hard to get mad at you though because you have such a sensitive little soul and get upset if we raise our voices at you. We are working on teaching you some sign language to help you. You are so smart and are picking up on it so fast. You are learning please and more. You do say a few words though - only the best Momma, Dadda.

You have turned into your mother's child! You are our meat eater! You will eat mostly anything but especially meat. One evening we had bbq-ed some steaks. We cut some of the steak up for you, in small pieces. You wanted nothing to do with it. You just kept pointing and pointing. We couldn't figure out what you wanted so Dad handed you his plate so you could show us. You then picked up Dad's whole steak and started eating it! We couldn't believe it and were dying of laughter.

You are our busy active little boy. You love to play with cars and make driving sounds as you roll them along the floor. You love to play with blocks especially when you get to knock down the towers. You love to explore and run and play with your sister. Sometimes you and your sister have a little too much fun together. Abby was having fun picking you up and carrying you to Mom on day. You were loving it too. Well Abby tripped and you both fell and Thomas that's when you chipped your front tooth. You were so tuff and didn't even cry! All in all you are pretty accident prone, but we just attribute that to you being a busy little boy! It never keeps you down for long. You get right back up, ask for a little kiss to make it better and then keep on playing!
Now that you are 18mo. you are officially old enough for nursery, even though we've been sending you off and on for a few months. However, you don't love it. You usually cry when we leave. You'll figure out soon, though, that nursery is so much fun!

July:

We had lots of fun over the summer going on family camping trips! You LOVE camping, Thomas.

We had so much fun on the 4th of July. We watched fireworks and went to the parade. You were all tired out and fell asleep when the excitement was all over.

You and Abby LOVE going to the dinasaur park at City Creek and playing by the fountains.

You Love bath time, snuggle time and cooking time with mom and abby

One day, when dad was out of town, you and Abby and Mommy got all dressed up and went to chic-fil-a to get a free meal!

You are so mischievous and get into EVERYTHING! Gum is your new favorite thing!

Summer time is the best time because you got to spend SO much time outside, which you love, and we got to go out on Dad's little fishing boat and play in the water!

Every day shenanigans at the Colton house with your bright smile and adorable dimples!

We had a mini family reunion with Mom's family. We went bowling and miniature golfing and played in the water with our cousins! You liked bowling most of all.

August:

Our crazy, mischievous little boy!

You and Abby play so well together. Two of your favorite spots to play are in the car and on the swings!

This was another fun family camping trip. This trip is when we got all our firewood for the winter!

The many moods of our little Thomas!

Trip to Wheeler Farm for story time and to see the tractors and the animals.

You love: helping Daddy, eating any kinds of food, and LOVE playing in the water!

One Sunday we went down to Temple Square to see the pretty flowers. You and Abby had fun looking at all the water fall.

Sometimes church can be so tireing; you have this thing with tooth brushes and shoes. We frequently find you with a toothbrush in your hand and/or in your mouth. You also bring your shoes over to us multiple times a day for us to put them on you; you LOVE riding on the 4-wheeler and the lawn mower with Daddy.

Trip to Gardner village to see the witches. You like looking at the toys in the shops best of all.

Visit with Great Grandma Matheson with your cousins!

Our little stud muffin who can't go anywhere withouth his binky; mom made the mistake of giving you a glass bowl for lunch and not supervising you while you ate; painting pumpkins. You like it so much you decided to suck on the paint brush and eat the paint!

You love to play with your sister and get in to mischief with her as well. One day Dad was working on the roof and you and Abby decided to try out the ladder while no one was looking. Good thing we caught you before something bad happened!

October:
We went up to Silver Lake after General Conference to see the changing fall leaves adn we ended up seeing snow! You loved playing with it and eating it until you realized how cold it made your poor little fingers and then you were quite unhappy!

we managed to catch the beautiful leaves several other times this month. This was up Milcreek Canyon on a walk with Aunt Janie and Grandma Minny

You LOVE story time with Abby!

We often find you with food in your hands or in your mouth. Grandpa Terry's apples are your FAVORITE! They are just the right size for you to eat.

You caught Hand, Foot and Mouth disease this fall. It was miserable. You had sores all over your poor hands and feet and around your mouth. Everynight mom nursed and bandaged you up to help you feel a little better. You were such a champ!

Daddy's little helper; Mommy's little buddy!

More beautiful fall leaves and watching Daddy fish!

We went to a pumpkin patch to get some carving pumpkins for haloween and we got to play in a hay maze and corn pit! You liked the hay maze, but the corn pit, not so much!

Halloween is serious business at Grandma and Grandpa's. This was at Grandma Minny's Harry Potter Party.

Painting Pumpkins!

Carving pumpkins and trunk or treet with Grandma Cait!

You enjoyed Halloween. Trick or Treating was fun because you got to put candy in your bucket. You tolerated your costume. I wouldn't say that you loved it but I think you definitely will next year! You were Sebastian and Abby was Little Mermaid!

November:
You and Abby brushing; Abby loves to help you eat - here she is feeding you cereal

Some fun things that happened this month: we all helped Daddy in the basement. We wre painting and getting ready for carpet to come. Being mom's cuddle bug after your bath which you love to do. (the bath and the cuddles). You and Thomas love to play at the dinasaur park! All dressed up for church while Mom's at work.

This year for thanksgiving we watched Mommy run a race and had yummy dinner at Grandma Cait's.

After Thanksgiving weekend we had a fun weekend of looking at the Christmas lights down town, decorating and putting up the Christmas tree and wearing our new Christmas Jammies and Christmas Sunday outfits! You looked simply adorable in your little suit and tie!

You had lots of fun with Abby one day in the basement while Mommy was taping and getting ready for paint. It's all fun and games until someone get's their tooth chipped. Abby tripped and you both face planted and you chipped your little tooth. You were so tough and only cried a tiny bit.
