Thomas, our big boy. You are now 1 year old! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing you home from the hospital! We can't believe how fast time has flown.
At your 12 month Dr. appointment you weighed in at 18 lbs 7 oz.. It seems impossible that you've only gained 1 pound since your last appointment because you never stop eating! But you have been one the move and have leaned out quite a bit. You are 28 in. long. You are still wearing 9 month clothes. People are always surprised when we tell them you are 12 months old.
You are still our bottomless pit. It seems that you are NEVER full. We don't know what we'll do as you get older and eat even more.You put your sister to shame when it comes to eating. But we love that you love your food! You have 8 teeth - 4 on top and 4 on bottom and it makes the cutest little smile. It also makes it much easier to eat lots of different things.

You are ALL things BOY. You are constantly moving and getting into things. You are curious beyond belief. You are also a little tease. The minute we tell you not to do something or not to get into something you want to do it that much more. You look at us and do it and then get that little dimply grin on your face and giggle. You like to tease your sister most of all. Your favorite thing is to pull Abby's hair or crawl into her room while she's napping and climb up on her bed and poke at her with any toy you can find! You are a performer! You'll do anything for a little attention. You love making people laugh and smile and you love when we do the same for you! When we clap and laugh you smile and clap too! When we bang on the table you smile and laugh and bang on your highchair too. Then you smile and clap and bang on your own to try to get us to do it too! You love the imitation game!
Gone are the army crawling days. You have mastered the art of crawling on your hands and knees and you're getting so fast! You have started to pull yourself up on everything - and cruise around on your little feet holding on to whatever you can reach - you have even stood up on your own a couple of times for just a few seconds at a time. Walking is just around the corner, we just know it!
As busy as you are, you are still our cuddly little bug. You love morning snuggles with mom and dad and laying by your sister. You love giving kisses and you say 'Mama' and 'Dada' and respond with some kind of noise when we call your name.
You love playing in the water. As soon as you hear the water turn on in the tub you race your little hands and feet as fast as you can into the bathroom and stand up at the tubby. You've fallen in a time or two trying to reach the water coming out of the faucet. You also love to play and splash outside in the little kiddy pool - especially if it has warm water in it.
We went on our first family hike this past month up to Ensign Peak. You were Mommy's little hiking buddy and loved to be along for the ride.
For Memorial Day we went up Milkcreek Canyon for our traditional Matheson family breakfast. Mom really likes being able to dress you up in this cute mountainy outfit!
Then we went to Grandma Cait's new pool and swam our hearts out that evening. You just wanted to be held and splash around the whole time.
Your birthday was such a fun day! You got up early and had some snuggles with Daddy. Then we opened a few presents. Abby got you a fun toy bus and you love it!
Later we went to the splash pad with our Matheson cousins and Gramma 'Minnie' and Aunt Janie. You didn't love the splash pad but loved playing in your little pool with the warm water in it!
You were so tired from your big day that you slept ALL afternoon. You slept in your crib, on Mommy, through a bottle AND a pouch, then in mom and dad's bed.
We had a big birthday party to celebrate with all our family.
Mom and Dad got you a bike and you think that's pretty great too!
Thomas, we love you more than words can say. We LOVE your sweet, easy going personality and your mischievous smile. We love your early morning snuggles and your late night silliness. We love your sharp blue eyes and your sweet dimples. We simply love you and are so very grateful that our Heavenly Father would trust us with your sweet spirit.
