Thomas is 5 months

Thomas,

Our handsome boy! You are 5 months old and sweet as ever! Your smile and those dimples are some of our favorite things about you!

 

 

Abby always likes to be part of your photo shoots!

Thomas, you are ever growing. You aren't getting much taller but your getting more rolls by the minute! This is probably because you LOVE to eat. Sometimes you still eat every 2 or 2 1/2 hours! Your sleeping habits are only slightly improving, and it depends on the day too. You're mostly just waking up once a night and it's usually early morning like 3 or 4. Mom thought that maybe if we started feeding you some cereal before bed you might sleep longer. You are definitely not interested in that yet! That's okay, we'll wait another month and try again. 

Falling asleep and staying asleep during the day has been a struggle lately. you usually only take 1/2 hour to hour long naps and won't fall asleep unless you're moving. . .we're working on getting over that, huh buddy!

This is Daddy's new way of getting you to fall asleep. He puts you in a sling and swings you back and forth. You fall asleep almost immediately!

You have the sweetest little disposition. You are the easiest baby to get to smile and laugh and when you flash those dimples mommy just about melts! 

  

Mom likes to call you "handsome" and you are always living up to that name! 

 

You LOVE to be held and that is when you are the happiest. But you are learning how to have fun and play by yourself. You have found your voice in full force and love to talk and talk! Your favorite thing to play with is your hands, you love to suck and chomp on your hands - and if mom doesn't watch too closely, your thumb! 

If you look really close you can see that little thumb in your mouth! You were hanging out with all the girls this day when the Jardine cousins came to play.

You have recently discovered your feet! You love to grab your little toes and hold on as long as you can and then do it all over again! It's adorable!

 But your very most favorite thing to do is to be naked! You can be crying up a storm but when we get you undressed to change you or for tubbies or whatever you are the happiest little boy and smile and kick your little legs!

As long as you are a part of the action you are generally happy. You love to see what's going on, no matter what it is. You are still growing into your bumbo seat, but you love sitting in it on the kitchen table so you can be a part of the crowd!

  

You are a good sport when your sister wants to hold you and play with you. She likes to cover you with her stuffed animals and put you in her strollers and chairs like you're her baby doll. Most of your toys are pink (sorry buddy, we'll work on fixing that!) 

 

But there is no denying that your sister loves you and is the best big sister you could ask for! One of her favorite things to do is sit on Mom's and Dad's bed and watch "Pia" (Princess Sophia) while cuddling with you!

   

This past month we celebrated your first Halloween! You were the huntsman/lumber-jack and Abby was Little Red Riding Hood. You two made the cutest little pair! 

(Mommy was the old Granny and Daddy was supposed to be the wolf but we didn't quite get his costume together in time.)

 

 

  

After trick-or-treating with Grandma Cait and cousins we went to Grandma Mindy's and Grandpa Matheson's for Chili, scones, and more cousins!

In the beginning of November we took a little family road trip down to Cedar City. We stayed in a fun hotel, went swimming, went to dinner, played at a fun park and, most importantly, went to Aunt Marcie and Uncle Micheal's last SUU home football game. We had so much fun cheering them on!

 

 

 

Thomas, we adore you! You fill a special place in our home. We have loved watching you learn and grow these past 5 months and can't wait for more to come!
