Dear Abby,
10 Months Old! Another month older Abigail. We can hardly stand it. All of a sudden you are our big girl instead of our sweet little infant. You are in such a FUN stage of life. You are so so curious and BUSY, Busy, busy! We can't get you to sit still for anything.

10 month photo shoot. Just so happens that your 10 month birthday is near the 4th of July. We had to be patriotic!

| This is the best 'growth' picture I could get. You were ready to be done taking pictures and you don't hold still very well anymore! |
We don't know your exact height and weight this month, but I know you're growing, growing because you don't need to stand on Mommy's thick 'med-surg nursing' book under your jumper anymore. You are big enough to reach the ground! You've also grown out of most of your 6 months clothes as well and are now in some 6-9 and just 9 month clothes! And that hair! You hair is growing so much, but just on the top of your head, hopefully he rest will start growing soon!
You have gotten SO much better at moving around. You have mastered the art of 'scooting' on your belly. You can pull your self around almost anywhere you want to go. Just recently you learned how to get up on your hands and knees and are beginning to move LOTS more that way! And boy do you learn quickly. You've also started to do this funny crawl where you stick your left foot out and crawl on your hands and right knee and left foot. It's pretty stinkin' cute!
 |
| This is the best picture I could get of your 'combat crawl'. You move so fast it's hard to get a good shot! |
Now that you can move around so well you have been making lots and lots of messes. Anything you can pull out, pick up, unfold, or crinkle up you will find it and do it! You are constantly moving and reaching and playing with anything you can find or that's in reach of your little hands . . . or feet!
 |
| You didn't cry over this spilled milk, but Mommy wanted to! As you can see Daddy thought it was hilarious and had to snap a photo! |

| Making messes! |
You still love to play with your Daddy. You've learned that when you want to play all you have to do is go find Dad. One particular time was at about 3:30 in the morning. You woke up much earlier than normal and Mommy brought you into her bed to feed you. Afterwards, you must have thought that it was morning time because you then started to crawl over to Daddy and tried to wake him up so he could play with you. It was one of the cutest things Mommy has seen you do! But, she had to put a stop to that. We couldn't let you get into a habit of waking up and playing at 3:00 in the morning!
You have started to pull yourself up to a standing position more and more. It gets easier everyday. Again, you learn so fast! You love to be on your feet. One of your favorite things to do is pull yourself up in between the coffee table and the couch and then go back and forth between the two playing with whatever you can reach your little fingers to get. You started to use the table to help you walk around. Mommy is not ready for that!! You have also learned how to pull your self up in your crib and you seem to REALLY enjoy doing that! We're in trouble now!
You've learned how to give 'kisses'. Mommy will kiss you on the cheek and then say "Abby, kisses!" and, usually, you will open your mouth wide and put it on Mommy's or Daddy's cheek. We've learned that you are a little flirt! One day at church you were giggling and smiling at the little baby boy sitting in the row behind us, trying to hold his hand, and the other day you started giving 'kisses' to another little boy we're friends with. Heaven help us when you get older!!
You still nap pretty well. But this past month has been a little rough. Lately you have had a hard time going down for naps for Mom and we're not totally sure why. Maybe Mom has been working too many days in a row. You tend to have a harder time going down because you can stand up and play. Maybe you're a little smarter than Mom and Dad think too; you must know that when you stand up, we'll come and get you - because we do! Yikes. And what comes along with standing up in your crib? You move around so much that we find you in some pretty interesting sleeping positions!
Mommy's proudest moment this past month is when you and Daddy were sitting at dinner and Mom got up to get something. When she turned the corner and came back into your view you looked right at her and said "Mama". Her heart melted just a little bit - no a LOT- at that moment! (It was such a big deal that she even remembered the day, June 16th!) And ever since then you have said it quite a bit. You still say 'Dada' all the time too. But that was the first time you said Mama. Along with this you talk in general ALL THE TIME! You are constantly babbling - 'mama mama', 'dada dada', 'baba baba'. You have this adorable little high pitched voice! You have picked up on a little sign language as well. It's not always consistent, but you will sign 'milk' and 'more'. It's pretty exciting to watch you learn so much!
Bath time is hit and miss with you. Sometimes you love it and sometimes you hate it. But either way you really don't like the 'getting washed' part. We can't decide what color your eyes are going to be. At first they were so blue and then for a while they had so much brown in them. Now they seem to be a different color every day. Sometimes really blue and sometimes really brown and sometimes greenish. I guess time will tell! You still only have one little tooth. Mom thinks you're going to get lots of teeth soon though because you're showing all the classics signs of teething, especially drooling!
We love you Abigail! We often think about what we have done so far in our lives, and you are definitely our Greatest accomplishment!
