Russell is 8 Months

Russell,

You are 8 months old! You are the squishiest, smiley-est, sweetest little boy!

You are gaining more upper body strength and have finally learned to sit up on your own! While you are sitting, whether it is on the floor or in your bumbo, you love to reach for anything and everything that is within reach. And per usual whatever you find goes straight into your mouth! You will knaw on anything that's in your hands.

This past month you have been a little off your schedule and don't sleep as well as you used to. This, along with you constant chewing of everything, we think you are teething and won't be surprised if we see some teeny little teeth soon.

Your eyes are starting to change color. They look different from day to day but they sure do have a lot of brown in them. We're thinking we're going to have a little brown eyes by! You've also discovered your voice and will talk ALL the time. You babble dadadadada, mamama, or just sing ahhhh and different tones. You get low and drawn out when you're tired. We call it your "tired song".

You continue to LOVE food and will eat just about EVERYTHING we have given you to eat. Soup, graham crackers, green beans, peas, chicken, eggs. yogurt, (all real food, not baby food). We all sit down to eat and you end up eating more of everyone else's meals than of your own baby food. You love to eat real fruit in your little mesh pouch and will suck strawberries dry down to the seeds. One night Mom let you try some of her chicken leg. You latched on and started sucking and you were so mad when she took it away! You LOVE your food but still love your milkies the very best!

You have started getting so interested in toys and playing with things! You love to sit in your bouncer chair and listen to music and play and bounce. You also love to sit and read stories. Your favorite is Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Abby has it memorized and will read it to you. You just look up at her with so much love in your eyes. It is the SWEETEST thing!

It is a fun time of year and we've had fun doing fall and halloween activities. You went to your first pumpkin patch and decorated halloween cookies with the family. (I think you even got lucky an were tried a cookie or two). You got to go with Mom and Dad to St. George for our anniversary trip, you lucky duck. We had a fun halloween party at Grandma Mi Mi's and Grandpa Matheson's and carved pumpkins and Grandma Cait's and then at Grandma Lu's house.

You are adored wherever you go. You flash those big eyes and that sweet smile and everyone falls in love! Happy 8 months little one!
