Thomas, the time has FLOWN by! You are 2 1/2 years old and getting more mischievous, curious, smart, and sweet by the minute.
You are starting to talk so much. It seems that everyday you are saying a new word. Some of our favorite words that you say are "want that" (in a demanding way) = I don't want that; nano=monster; nama mimi and nama dait= grandma mindy and grandma cait; apoe=Popsicle (not to be mistaken with apple); mope=milk; eee-bop=wake up; ewen=orange; een; green; ibbit-ibbit=ribbit-ribbit/frog;
mamows=lucky charms; eerios=cheerios; tea-pot=stink-pot.
You have a hard time sitting still to eat long enough to finish any meal. We usually have to sit you down and feed you to make sure you eat everything. There is just so much going on in your little world that you don't want to miss anything. However when you get focused on a certain activity or game you can sit still and be entertained for sometimes 30 minutes or more.
Your favorite colors and orange and green. Your favorite movie is Moana and you love listening to the Greatest Showman soundtrack and singing 'Noel.' You love to color especially with Water Wow and markers. We're still trying to get you to learn not to color on yourself or anything else besides the paper. You want to do anything and everything that your sister does. Your favorite outfit is being naked. Lately you've learned to take your diaper off and run around the house yelling "nate-ed, nate-ed" as you giggle and laugh!
You used to be such a mama's boy and would sneak into bed with Mom and lay tummy to tummy with her. Now it is all about your Daddy. You prefer him to anyone - even mom - and love playing with him. It is pretty adorable. You love to take showers with Daddy. He turns on the 'baby' water for you and you would stand in that warm water all day if we let you! You love wearing a tie and getting dressed up for church like Daddy.
We believe it's habitual at this point - you get up every night between 3 and 4 am and toddle into our bedroom. You climb up into our bed and want to snuggle up with your Daddy right in the middle of the bed. Sometimes you even bring your own pillow! When we put you back in bed or when we tuck you in at the beginning of the night you like to lie down on your pillow and pat the pillow until we lay down with you. Nothing is quite so sweet! You just like to have someone to sleep next to.
You are our early riser! You are usually up and ready to go for the day between 6 and 7 am. Your first demands are 'mamos' or 'errios' and if we don't get up fast enough to get them for you, you start whining like a champ.
Mom and Dad are learning what it's like to have a little boy around. You do lots of things that your sister simply didn't do, like: running around naked, taking your diaper off and pooping in the office; drawing on walls, furniture, clothes and your body; having a very very short attention span. But we love the little boy that you have become. You are so full of life and spunk. We love hearing you sing and giggle. We love that you are learning to be thoughtful and giving like your sister (she draws us a picture so you want to as well.) We are excited to see how you are with a little brother around. We think you are excited about the baby too. You seem to think there is a baby in your belly just like Mom's.
Our Sassy little man!
Hangin' at the Zoo!
4th of July matching outfits! The fireworks and parade were a hit this year!
You love playing in the water - at the splash pad, in the rain (with your new umbrella!), riding on the boat, in the tub, or the swimming pool! You are our Beach baby - especially with your beach blonde hair!
You got a turtle painted on your arm and you were NOT happy about it!!
We had a great family reunion this summer with Grandma Mimi and Papa! You liked hanging out by the fire with Papa.
You love getting dressed up in Abby's jammies occasionally; and love seeing the baby animals!
You took a small bite out of every single cupcake! You little stinker!
We got to go on a pretty awesome trip to California and went to Disneyland. It was pretty magical! We went to the beach and played in the sand. You didn't really like the water. We stayed at Great Aunt Jeannie's house and you and Abby loved playing in her pool!
Hiking with Mom this fall. You walked most of the way and were only carried for a little bit. You we saw a pretty awesome waterfall at the end.
You learned how to use your bike you got for your birthday last year and had fun riding around in your new helmet. Just a little lunch in Mom's bed watching your favorite movie - Moana!
Before and after church. You love to get dressed up and match Daddy with your jacket and tie. It is quite possibly the most adorable thing!! Church is right during your nap time so you usually crash after. Mom misses your snuggles. This tummy to tummy position on mom was your very favorite for so long. But now you are all about your Dad's snuggles!
You were an Aviator for Halloween and the cutest one around in our opinion! Your favorite thing about Halloween was decorating cookies and getting candy while trick-or-treating. You loved your sunglasses and tolerated your had for your costume!
We got a new van in preparation for our baby brother to come! You and Abby love being able to open and close your own doors with the push of a button!
You and your sister are such good buddies! Most of the time you play really well together and have so much fun!
Some of our Christmas prep. We went to see Santa a few times. You liked getting the candy cane but not Santa so much! We spent lots of nights sitting in front of the warm fire. You love the lights on the tree and were so sad when we had to take it all down.We also decorated Gingerbread Houses at Grandma Cait's house. You and Abby had a blast!
We've had a few snow storms this season and you love playing in it. But mostly you love eating the snow!! We had fun playing with our cousins in the snow too! Mimi and Papa have a pretty cool garden and you got to pick the Popsicle that they grew!
Thomas at the movie theater on Christmas Eve. You enjoyed the popcorn way more than the movie!
