5 Months Old

Dear Abby,
You are 5 months old. You continue to make us smile with every new thing that you learn and with every new glimpse of personality that we see in you. You have the most adorable little smile and giggle and are a ray of sunshine in our lives!

Abigail Cait Colton; 5 months old. February 6, 2015

Abby, you are growing stronger by the minute. You LOVE to stand up and look around. You have to know what's going on around you. Because of this you have turned in to quite the distracted eater. Any noise that you hear you have to turn to see what's going on.

Daddy likes to test your strength!

You've gotten into a pretty routine schedule: Wake up around 6 or 7 am, nap around 10 or 11, second nap around 1, and third, smaller, nap around 4 - with lots of playing and eating in between and bedtime between 9 and 10 pm. Mommy likes to take naps with you during the day, especially when she works the graveyard shift! And Daddy LOVES to take naps with you whenever he can. Nap time usually happens on Mommy and Daddy's bed with a soft blanket or two and your Gi'affy, you can't take naps without him.

You are turning into a little Momma's and Daddy's girl. Mommy loves that you love her, but it's hard when she has to go to work and you are fussy for the babysitters. And you've started to have a little stranger - danger. Anyone you're not too familiar with are kinda scary and you don't like it. We'll have to work on that. :)

You are learning so much about the world around you, mostly by putting everything you can get a hold of in your mouth. You love your toys and anything that makes a crinkly noise, like paper, or plastic water bottles. You have also started to roll over from you tummy to your back. I'm not sure how intentional it is yet, it might just be your big head that inadvertently makes you roll over. But it's happening more and more, so maybe you are figuring it out! :) You are getting better and better at holding things in your hands and developing those fine motor skills. You've figured out how to put your pacifier back in your mouth when you lose it, it sometimes takes you a while and you get frustrated, but you eventually get it. You are getting to smart!

Bath time rubber ducky, another of Abby's good friends.

You have such cute little mannerisms and funny things that you do.You have these amazing big eyes that everyone notices and compliments. Mommy and Daddy like to take pictures of you with the flash on because your eyes get even bigger with the light and your are so adorable! You also like to kick your legs straight up in the air and sometimes sleep like that too. We love everything you do and every little fat roll that you are so quickly acquiring!

Pictures with the flash on the camera. It's so funny to watch her eyes get SO big.

Mommy and Daddy went ice skating for mutual and you tagged along. We had so much fun!

Daddy calls you his Little Osa (means female bear in Spanish, I think.) when you where this suit.

We love taking walks together. You usually fall asleep, but that's ok!

Your new little friend, Trooper - Uncle Kyle and Aunt Taylor's new puppy.
You and Grandma Cait and cousins Kyndall and Ainzlee celebrating Uncle Ashton's birthday!

Tummy time fun!
More pictures with the camera flash! :)
Sometimes your are so tired that you fall asleep sitting up on the couch like this. I think you were trying to say your prayers as well! ;)

We love you Abby and can't believe how fast you are growing. We love your pure, innocent, sweet spirit and are grateful we get to have you in our lives!
